Global Domination

Say we’re fighting wars in the future.  Wouldn’t it be awesome to have unlimited amounts of power? As in electricity to power your: cities, machines of war, doomsday devices, etc. Maybe even be the only nation with such power?

Like something that won’t run out? …the sun? or gravity?

What the world needs is for some evil geniuses in the pentagon (or your evil genius next-door, either way.) to realize that solar power is dangerous as fuck.

Maybe then solar power will take off.  But seriously, is there no way to weaponize solar power? Don’t you want to be the best at that? The man with the golden gun thought so.

As Eight Are Charged for Berlusconi Sex Parties, Putin Blames Jealousy

In related news, you absolutely do not want to know what Putin does behind closed doors.

iPhone 5 "lost" in bar, potentially recovered in clandestine raid, definitively fishy.

This reads like Austin Powers storyline.

Meet Irena Sendler (1910-2008)
She was a 98 year-old Polish woman at her time of death. During World War II, Irena worked in the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumbing/sewer specialist. She dedicated herself to  smuggle Jewish children out. Infants were carried in the bottom of the tool box she used and older children in a burlap sack she had in the back of her truck.
She also had a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids’ and infants’ noises. Irena managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children during this time
She eventually was caught and the Nazis broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely. Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and in a glass jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited some of the families but most had been killed. She then helped those children get placement into foster family homes or adopted.
In 2007, Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.
Al Gore won for presenting a slide show on Global Warming.
That’s our society for you.

Not to slight her, but I’m sorry, Al Gore won for a lot more than ‘a slide show on global warming’. You can devalue a lot of things by pretending to write them in the most bland manner possible.

Airbus has announced an airplane with a clear hull. It’s called the 2050. I hope that’s not a supposed delivery date, expect this aircraft to be in service some time around “Beneath the Planet of the Apes.”

Rough Week for the World of Lesbian Blogging

It turns out that two popular blogs, supposedly run by raucous and visceral politically savvy lesbians, are, in fact, straight men.  ”A Gay Girl in Damascus” and “Lez Get Real” even flirted with each other over the internet…well, not really at all.  The former was supposedly very-very interesting, especially with the unreal human rights violations in Syria.

Both ghost authors apparently hid their gender and sexuality with the best intentions. Whatever their intentions, hopefully they were ironic.

Fun Fact…

Did you know that, during the financial crisis,* Goldman Sachs lost 98% of a $1.3 billion dollar sovereign wealth fund belonging to Muammar Qaddafi.

*which crisis was that exactly?

This is a yearbook photo of US Presidential hopeful Rick Santorum that I found on The Atlantic’s website.
Creepy kid. Google “Rick Santorum” if you don’t already know. He’s a terrible politician and this picture makes perfect sense.
“Yearbook did not list awards or activities for students.” (It only says that next to his picture).
